Energy Saving Bulbs

You could be here for any number of reasons, especially if you are looking for  energy saving bulbs. When we say this we do of course mean your motive for looking into such light bulbs. The point of  energy saving light bulbs is generally to save you a bit of money. By this we of course mean that with energy saving bulbs you can typically obtain the same brightness at a lower wattage. To make it even better, they produce less heat which makes them easy to use even in the most demanding times.

If you have a large family then you have probably gone through the house turning off lights at one point or another in an attempt to curb the rising electrical bill. If you are the typical family then you have given countless discussions on the importance of shutting off lights when you are done with them. This does not necessarily mean that you can leave your lights on all the time so long as you use something energy efficient, but it does mean you can be a bit more flexible with the lighting schedule. That said, let's talk about two energy saving light bulbs that you might choose to make use of in the near future:

LED Lamp:

This is a solid state lamp which makes use of Light Emitting Diodes. Something to note is that these LED's are fairly small when held in comparison to incandescent lights or even CFL's, and with that being the case several will more than likely be used together to produce more light. These energy saving light bulbs are obviously going to cost considerably more than CFL's or any other type of energy saving light bulbs.

Compact Fluorescent Lamp

:

These are the CFL's that we mentioned before, and these are essentially fluorescent light bulbs in a smaller model. Most of the time these will be more expensive than standard light bulbs, but they last five times longer and provide a different light spectrum. Take note that these bulbs do contain mercury which makes their disposal a bit difficult in most cases.

Yes, energy saving light bulbs are going to be more expensive in most cases, but that doesn't mean you should pass them up. As with standard light bulbs, you can obtain your energy saving bulbs in virtually any shape and size which makes them perfect for any use. You might be purchasing them for use in your home, your basement, or even your outside workshop. Keep in mind that some of the larger bulbs can cost up to £10 depending on the make, and you may get as many as four for £3.00. You're on the way to better lighting, and you'll be there before you know it!
