Low Energy Light Bulbs

In the past a lot of people have been put off buying energy saving bulbs.  They were considered expensive, unattractive in shape, they didn't fit all kinds of light socket and they don't always seem as bright as old fashioned bulbs.  Well things have really changed since the early days of low energy bulbs.  For starters they are no longer expensive.  Basic bulbs can be purchased for as little as 10p each, and you will make a double saving because you will also save money on your electric bill because they don't take as much energy to run.  They also last longer than conventional bulbs so you won't have to purchase new ones as quickly.  These days you aren't stuck with the same unattractive design of bulbs.  They come in lots of different designs and shapes, so that you can buy bulbs that are easily hidden by your lamp shade if you wish, or pretty designs that look nice enough to show off.

There are now low energy light bulbs to fit every type of light fitting, so there is no reason to hang on to your old fashioned bulbs. They will be costing you money in electricity and with the bills going up and up, anything you can save on it is a bonus.  Some people say that energy saving bulbs don't seem as bright.  This isn't true as you can buy many different wattages of bulbs to suit how bright you want your room to be.  Sometimes they can take a while to brighten up, as they start dimmer and gradually get brighter and that could be why they don't seem as bright, but just wait a few minutes and your room will be bright.  They do give a different tone of light to traditional bulbs which is more relaxing and calm.

Floodlight bulb replacements have now been added by manufactures into the low energy bulb field. So even your greatest energy using bulbs have been updated. This will make big reductions in your energy bills as they were very expensive to run. What I would add with these new types of bulbs is to be very careful when inserting them. They are very sensitive indeed and you will reduce their lifespan quite drastically if you touch the glass element of the light when you insert them. Use gloves so that then you will avoid the problem and the bulb will last a long time.
