Ten years is a very long to time to have to deal with the very common problem of condensation. That is how long unfortunately, it took me to solve my problem. So this article is how to reduce condensation, in this case in a conservatory.
We live in a south facing bungalow and have a quite large conservatory locate across the rear with the entrance from the house coming through the kitchen door. We use the conservatory all year round and really treat it as a living room.
The summer however it does get very hot indeed and we really need to keep the outside door open to allow the heat to escape a little.
So what causes the condensation? In our case it is quite simple it is the moisture content coming through from the kitchen. Now this causes the windows first thing in the morning to be very wet indeed and it used to take a good ten minutes to clear using various different methods over the years. From chamois leather clothes to kitchen paper towels, we tried them all.
I had to solve the problem as we were getting a build-up of mildew around the window frame’s which was very unhealthy and in the winter months we also felt damp and cold. So how did I manage to solve what was at the time a very large problem to us.
Initially I used a product that is absolutely excellent at removing the mildew. It has a very high bleach content and did not stain our extremely expensive roof blinds that had been fitted. So the mildew problem was sorted but I still had not worked out how to reduce condensation.
We could of course shut up the conservatory for the winter as a lot of people do but this was not our way. The answer was very simple indeed, after I had completed some research using the internet, why I had not done this before I just could not say.
With the aid of the internet once more I sourced my product and within a week I had had it delivered. I open the box with the anticipation of a child on Christmas day. Checked and followed the manufactures instruction to the letter as I did not want to get this solution to my ten year old problem wrong.
Within a couple of days we started to notice quite a marked difference in the air quality and the room and eventually the whole property seems warmer and much more comfortable. There was a tiny amount of product maintenance to be carried out every couple of days but this was actually a pleasure to complete. Each time it was carried out we felt a step closer to completing how to reduce condensation in our conservatory.
We had always strived to become a healthy home and improve our environment for ourselves and others. During the weeks and months that followed our bungalow had become very comfortable and the air quality was superb.
What was the product-a dehumidifier which we had purchased from www.mygreenstore.co.uk . All I can say is that this very simple product has totally changed our lives, so thank you all.
